How Opt-In Is Collected

Opt-in is collected only through the following three methods. No SMS messages are sent before consent.

1) Website form

At https://alohatone.com/alohatone-privacy.html, the consumer enters their name, email address, and mobile number and checks an unchecked consent box next to this disclosure: “I agree to receive recurring SMS messages from Aloha Tone about customer support, service updates, technical support, and installation coordination. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Privacy Policy and SMS Terms: https://alohatone.com/alohatone-privacy.html.” The form records the mobile number, timestamp, source, and consent. The same form is also available at https://alohatone.com/sms-signup.php. After the form is submitted, Aloha Tone sends the recurring opt-in confirmation shown in the Text-to-join method below.

2) Text-to-join

The consumer texts START to 808-356-2911 after seeing the opt-in invitation on the Aloha Tone webpage. Aloha Tone immediately sends: “Aloha Tone: You’re subscribed to recurring messages about customer support and service updates. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.” Consent is not a condition of purchase. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

3) Verbal outage-support opt-in

This is expected to be the most common method during service outages because affected customers may not have working Internet access. Before sending any SMS message, an Aloha Tone representative reads the following disclosure: “Aloha Tone would like to send you recurring SMS messages about customer support, service updates, technical support, and installation coordination. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Privacy Policy and SMS Terms are available at https://alohatone.com/alohatone-privacy.html. Do you agree to receive these messages?” The consumer must affirmatively agree. Aloha Tone records the mobile number, date and time, representative, source as verbal outage-support consent, and disclosure version. Aloha Tone then immediately sends the recurring opt-in confirmation shown above.
